Recently, Jes took her family to visit The Gentle Barn in Santa Clarita California. After hearing about the wonderful work Ellie Laks and Jay Weiner have been doing rehabilitating barn animals, Jes was excited to have a look for herself. What she discovered was an absolute haven for once severely abused and neglected animals. Not only are they treated like kings and queens, with the best food, medical care and plenty of room to roam, their presence serves a dual purpose of educating children (including special needs and at risk youth).
